About Paul

I was a teacher for 37 years. My major in college was Accounting. My education consists of A.S. Accounting, Northern Essex Community College, B.S, Business/Accounting, Salem State College, M.ED. Business, Salem State College. My minor in college was Social Studies. I was certified to teach in the state of Massachusetts in the following areas: Business K-12, Computers, 6-12, Social Studies, 6-12.

For over ten years I was a Director of an Academic Development Center. I encouraged at-risk students to improve their grades. The students were able to improve their grades by changing their study habits.

After I retired I went back to be certified in ESOL (English Spoken Oral Language).

I have taught Accounting at the Community College level, College Accounting for advanced students in High School and Accounting for adults at night school. I also worked as an auditor in a Hotel in New Hampshire.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

American History

My minor in college was Social Studies, U.S. History. I have worked with middle students in History. I ran a program where I was a teacher, The Academic Development Center, I spent time helping students in high school with their history studies.

Business

I have taught a number of Business subjects at Westford Academy for 37 years. I was certified to teach Business k-12 grades in the state of Massachusetts. I received my Associate Degree in Business/Accounting at Northern Essex Community College. I received both my Bachelors and Masters in Business from Salem State University. I did advance study in Computer, Law and Business subjects throughout my 37 years of teaching in Massachusetts.

I also taught Business subjects at the Community College level and adult education courses. I taught the following subjects: keyboarding, accounting, business law, business ethics and business math.

I was also selected the Business Teacher of the year from the Business Association of America chapter in Massachusetts.
