Fitchburg State College (English and Edu)
Simmons College (Master's)
My name is Jessica and I am a teacher who is currently on hiatus as stay-at-home mom. I have a Master's degree from Simmons College and four years of teaching experience under my belt. I have spent the last two of which were spent in Medfield, Massachusetts. I have also worked with students over the years in communities such as Lexington, Natick, Littleton, Harvard, Fitchburg, and Chelmsford.
I am an English teacher by trade, and for that reason I am best suited to help your student succeed in their English/ELA class. I have spent the last two years in an 8th grade classroom co-teaching and working closely with special educators to create reading and writing tools suited for all types of learners. I also have extensive knowledge of educational technology since I come from a school with several years of an iPad pilot program under its belt. This includes Google Classroom, Explain Everything, Notability, etc.
I have also spent time as a French teacher (though not formally certified) and would be a great candidate to help your child reach oral and written language goals in this subject area.
Other subject areas that people often inquire about are the SATs. I have absolutely done SAT tutoring in the past and will be taking a course this Fall to brush up on changes in the test and to go over strategies that are most effective for students. I would definitely not wait to inquire about SAT tutoring; and when you do, ask about special group rates!
I look forward to hearing from you!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
