I have had many careers in my almost 62 years. I worked as a professional cook (5 years), a computer hardware technician (5 years), a computer hardware test tech instructor (2 years), a computer software consultant (20 years) , and a building contractor (12 years).
I attended School at Central New England College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). I studied chemical and mechanical engineering and have a degree in business management. I also have a current contractors supervisors license. I love to read and learn new things.
I started tutoring in High school, where I helped the fullback on my football team to go from a D to a B in math. My experience as a test tech instructor was with a Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) program. Here I was training people from many walks of life, helping them make the transition into a new career field. I find helping students discover their ability to accomplish tasks previously thought to be insurmountable very rewarding. I hope I will be able to help you and yours to find the same satisfaction. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I am an avid reader. I always read with a dictionary beside me. Words are power and the light to clear the darkness. Nothing helps you hold your own in any conversation like a good vocabulary. Only with a good vocabulary, can you speak at any level you desire. Nothing gives a wrong impression of your knowledge faster than bad grammar and improper use of vocabulary.
