I firmly believe that all students can succeed with a proper instructor. Sometimes we struggle to connect with a teacher and subsequently get overwhelmed by subject. In this situation, a tutor can provide a fresh perspective on the material. As a tutor, it is incredibly gratifying to help students overcome these struggles and gain new insights.

I have over six years of tutoring experience. While I was a student at Boston Latin School, the guidance department sought me out and offered me a tutoring position. I spent my final two years tutoring 8th grade students in Latin and algebra during my study periods. As a college student, the Bowdoin College Latin Department offered me a paid position to tutor students in intermediate Latin. I have also spent the past four years as a private Latin and math tutor for a family in Boston.

I have two years of experience helping students in algebra and pre-calculus.

I have had formal instruction in Vergil, Ovid, Catullus, Caesar, Pliny, Sallust, and more. I am confident that my six years of Latin tutoring experience can help any student understand De Bello Gallico or prepare for the AP Latin exam and Latin SAT II subject test.

Funnily enough, my experience in Latin has given me a thorough grounding in English syntax, vocabulary, and meter. As a humanities major, I am quite familiar with structuring, editing, and proofreading essays.
