As a recent graduate of the Literatures in English and Creative Writing programs at Connecticut College, I have had the opportunity to develop an in depth understanding of how written communication opens doors. As a student, I was the TA for a Creative Fiction class, and served as Editor in Chief of the campus newspaper.
After a brief period working in Boston Public Schools in Dorchester, I moved on to working in the Publishing industry. I work as an Editorial Assistant supporting three editors through the book publishing process. It is my dream job--and requires that I spend a majority of my time responding to book proposals, writing the book summaries that appear on the back covers, and communicating directly with authors.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
