Full Sail (Digital Arts and Des)
My name's Harriet Amelia S., but you can call me Amy. I'm a graphic designer, a professional creative, and a digital artist. I've worked with a lot of different companies over the years: Bose, as a consulting technologist; Africa Home TV, as a lead motion graphics engineer; I've contracted design work for SAP, Food Network, HBO ... I've worn a lot of digital hats and I love teaching people how to use the tools I live with every day.
I started with photography in elementary school, with my mom, and in high school, under the tutelage of two people: the former head of the NY times photography department, and the former head of Columbia University's art department - both of whom retired to become teachers. After that, I got two degrees in three years from a school with a ninety percent drop out rate and then ran, headfirst, into the industry.
I've literally got nearly a decade's worth of experience in the Adobe Suite. I'm good with the all of the different pieces, particularly Photoshop, After Effects, and InDesign, with Final Cut Pro, with Logic and Garageband, with Pro Tools, and with PowerPoint and Keynote. Thank you very much for your time, hope to be teaching you soon!
Music is also a HUGE part of my life. I play nine instruments and have been playing guitar, let's face it the coolest one, for the vast majority of a decade.
I have a rig to teach any program in the Adobe Suite and Final Cut.
I have a rig to teach piano, guitar, bass, and DAW's. My name's Harriet Amelia S., but you can call me Amy. I'm a graphic designer, a professional creative, and a digital artist. My son's tutoring with Harriet went well. She is very thorough and interactive, easily went from one subject to another. Highly recommend her.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I've worked with InDesign for years. I've got the lion's share of a decade of practice using the program. I went to school and was trained in every detail of the specifics.
I have a degree in digital art.
I have years of experience with sketching and improved my skills dramatically at school.
I have a degree in digital arts and design, from a school with a 90% attrition rate, with a 3.9 GPA. I've worked as a graphic designer for Bose, Africa Home TV, contracted out my services to Food Network, SAP, Planned Parenthood, and a variety of other smaller clients. And I use the adobe suite on a daily basis, I practically live there.
