In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I studied Ear Training intensively through my Bachelor and Masters degrees. While studying different methods of ear training, I developed my own way of approaching the subject. I believe that ear training is perhaps the most important skill for every musician on any instrument.
I am a bassist and composer, and I play different genres of music with different groups -- from Rock, through Jazz, World music and Classical music. I am performing constantly around the world as a performer. I believe that music is for everyone - all ages, musicians and non-musicians.
Many people can play some guitar: chords, maybe some epic guitar solos.
In the way I teach guitar, we go deeper into getting to know the fingerboard: notes, ear training, sight reading, chords and melodies.
Guitar is a wonderful instrument, and having the ability to find melodies and chords, together with sight reading on the guitar is joyful and rewarding!
I have been teaching guitar for the last 7 years. I have a Bachelor degree from the Jerusalem Music Academy, and a masters degree from the New England Conservatory.
I am a fluent Hebrew speaker and a professional musician. As a result, I can teach Hebrew, Hebrew music, Torah reading for Bar Mitzvah or generally, and more.
Listening to music is fun! And can be even more fun if we have the historical context of what we hear.
In music history lessons, we pick a time frame, and listen together to music from that time, while understanding the aesthetics, morals and ideas that were behind this music.
If you want to get familiar with new kinds of music, new genres or if you just want to learn some more about the history of music, this is the right this for you!
I have been teaching music history, theory and appreciation for the last 2 years in different settings. I have a bachelor degree from the Jerusalem Music Academy, and a master's degree from the New England Conservatory.
Piano is an important instrument for any musician, and can be joyful and rewarding for amateurs. Being a Bassist, I compose and play on the piano almost everyday and find it one of the most useful tool works as a musician.
Studying piano with me, you will learn theory, sight reading, chords, melodies, ear training and more. I am open to teach you Jazz, classical music, rock or pop and songs. All you need is motivation and dedication (and a piano or keyboard).
I have been teaching beginner Piano, ear training and music theory the last 7 years. I have a Bachelor degree from the Jerusalem Music Academy, and a masters degree from the New England Conservatory.
Like any other language, music have a way of writing it. We can learn how to read music and be able to sing or play what we see on the page. Like any other language - it takes time and practice. It can be fun and very rewarding!
As a Bassist in different groups and projects I get to read a lot of music from the page. Sometimes I get the music in advance to practice it, but sometimes I have to read it on the spot. At the beginning it was very frustrating, but slowly I started finding my way to approach it, and my sight reading skills got better. I would love to help either gain the skills to never be afraid anymore of what's on the page.
I have a Bachelor's degree from the Jerusalem Music Academy and Master's degree from the New England Conservatory.
