Emerson College (TV Film Production)
After 25 years in broadcasting, I am semi-retired. I still work at Harvard part time and produce media, but am slowly winding down.
I was employed for eight years at WHDH in Boston as a production specialist. During my tenure I was a team member for most of the stations Emmy award winning programs and received an individual Emmy nomination for Lighting Design. Whether it was camera, or lighting, or audio, you name it, I did it. I was even the subject of a documentary on media production skills in the mid 80's. While there I also freelanced for ABC News, worked for 60 Minutes, ESPN, and the Phil Donahue show. Most notably, I was the DP for a national candlelight Christmas Mass live from the old North Church in Boston.
I left to work on a network news program and then managed the international media facilities for what was the largest independently owned news gathering organization in the world.
I moved to Avid Technology and developed training curriculum for editing and departed to work as a production trainer/consultant/project manager for national clients such as the NBC, AFI, PBS, etc.
While not working for Harvard I am producing media for non-profits and businesses.
I have taught students from age 14 to 64 the following:
Introduction to editing, Adobe Premiere
Adobe Photoshop for video editors
After Effects basics
Video camera, beginner and intermediate
Shooting video with a Canon DSLR
Audio for video, beginner and intermediate
Lighting for field video, beginner and intermediate
Writing for video, beginner and intermediate
Producing for video, beginner and intermediate After 25 years in broadcasting, I am semi-retired. I still work at Harvard part time and produce media, but am slowly winding down.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a production specialist with over 25 years producing video at the Boston and network level. I have been part of a team that won more than 16 Emmy Awards and been nominated for Lighting and Editing.
As a production consultant for CSPS and AFI and curriculum developer/trainer for Avid technology I have taught hundreds of students in the past ten years. Currently I work as a videographer for Harvard University and run a production company on the North Shore of Boston.
