Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Dyslexia

I have worked with dyslexic children for over 39 years. I am a certified learning disabilities teacher and have received specialized training in the Wilson program and several other programs as well. I was the lower school reading specialist at Berkshire Country Day school for five years. I would be happy to answer any questions.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am certified in the state of MA in elementary education and special education mild to moderate. I have worked in public school and private schools and have training and experience in learning differences and disabilities.

Study Skills

I have MA certification in Elementary and Special Education. I have been an educator for 40 years and have diverse experience working with a wide range of students. Study Skills is an important component of what I provide for students that I tutor. All students benefit from a review or reinforcement of basic study skills and in particular organizational skills.
