About Paul

What makes me different? In today's world there are so many businesses and individuals offering tutoring services. It can be difficult to know where to turn to or who to trust. What I feel makes me stand out is my uncompromising academic rigor and integrity and my commitment to you. I truly want my students to succeed and thrive in their careers. I want to see them reaching their goals. As a tutor in an ESL capacity, I have become deeply invested in the lives of my students. I enjoy learning about their culture and background and feel I share their struggles. I find one-on-one tutoring to be a very rewarding experience for these reasons.

Over the years, I have held many different positions as a tutor. Most recently, I have worked in the public schools of New Mexico tutoring high school students in the ACT. This job presented me with many challenges and joys. With my fellow tutor, I faced the task of bringing an entire classroom of seniors into collaboration and discussion about tactics and problem solving techniques used to earn a good score on the test. My goal as a tutor is and always will be to enable my students to find the answer on their own using their own gifts. Although simply lecturing might initially seem to present less challenges, inspiring self-motivation and effort leads to the biggest pay-off for all those involved.

I have also worked one-on-one tutoring adult students from foreign countries and taught Latin to a classroom of elementary students. I look forward to helping to make your own education something that you can enjoy and actually find fun. I hope to help you find your own strengths and become master of your education.

Approved subjects

Paul has done a wonderful job helping my son with his college writing essays. My son has asperger's and has almost a mental block about writing. Paul helped him move through the process. It is a relief to all!
