I graduated from Berwick Academy cum laude with my High School Diploma and excelled in the math department there. I am a sophomore math major at UMASS Lowell. I love board games, as well as play weekly sessions of D&D (Dungeons and Dragons). Don't let that fool you!! I am well-spoken and love explaining math in simpler logic than others and push for a deeper understanding of the subject matter. I was the unofficial TA during my junior year in chemistry class, giving help to students and allowing students to have more individualized practice and allow students to succeed! My mom is a special education teacher and I spend the summers as a counselor at the MSPCA's Summer Camp. Last summer I became one of the four head counselors and taught humane education. My current plan is to transfer for next fall to become a math teacher.
I often tutored my classmates and seek to have a deeper understanding of math. I am that weirdo who watches minute physics and Numberphile on youtube for fun! When I explain math I don't like to use complex words or refer to topics that aren't fully comprehended. I use logic to get points across and ask leading questions instead of just doing the math, making sure the student understands every aspect of each problem. All I ask is that they're willing to put in a little effort and I'll make sure they understand the math part!
In addition to my love of math? These factors:
-750 on Math Section of SAT
-720 on Math II subject test SAT
-5 on AP Calculus
-Cum Laude in High School
If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask them! I look forward to working with you if you decide to contact or hire me to tutor and if not I wish you the best of luck in your tutor search!
