Throughout my life art has always been my central focus. My goal is to teach traditional and digital art mediums while inspiring students. My students will learn beneficial skills and methods to improve. I never give up on students just like I will never give up on my own artistic dreams, but I also know when to take a break from a project and move over to something different. Taking a break with art and getting fresh eyes by doing different exercises always helps when you come back to the project later.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Illustration and teaching experience as a children's ESL teacher as well as a experience as a private art and animation instructor. I want to assure you that my professional experiences and passion for the craft make me a qualified candidate to work with you or your child. I earned my BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2009 and I have six years of professional art, animation, and design experience. I also studied animation in my undergrad. I’m currently working on my second independent, yearlong, freelance animation project.
In 2011 I worked as a background artist on a new Cartoon Network show with a studio outside of Boston called Clambake Animation. This industry experience was invaluable to me. I have taught private drawing classes to individuals and crash courses in animation. I've used my skills as a graphic designer, illustrator, and animator with studios such as Gryphon Design Collective, Disney, Microsoft, Free Speech For People, Hitpoint Games, Urban Outfitters, and Free Range Studios. I’m proficient in Flash, Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator, which are the industry standards for animation and digital arts as well as graphic design.
I look forward to hearing from you!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
