In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I am an Algebra 1 tutor for grade and high school students as well as adults returning to school or work.

I have 10+ years experience in tutoring in math related subjects with students of all age groups and skill levels.

I have a BA in Economics from UMASS Dartmouth and currently teach a microeconomics course.

I am currently teaching two homeschooled teenagers (14 and 16)in Elementary Math. I meet with them on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 2 hours each day instructing them in math concepts such as fractions, percents, adding and subtracting, multiplying and dividing, absolute values, etc. I will also be covering material up to Algebra II and Pre-Calculus

I feel that I am qualified to tutor students in finite math. I have 10+ years in tutoring all types of mathematics including mathematical model building, matrix algebra, linear programming, combinatorics, probability, statistics, and logic which are all topics involved in finite math. I have been approved in Algebra 1 and 2, Precalculus, and Statistics which have topics related to finite math. I have a BA in Economics which encompasses many of the topics also.

I have helped many students of all ages pass Geometry classes successfully and understand and retain knowledge of the subject area.
