If you would like to improve your child's skills in writing, grammar, vocabulary or literature, I can help. I am a writer with five published novels that have been translated into seven languages. I've written articles on writing for Writers Digest Magazine, and have taught writing at the a High School as well as at various writing workshops in the greater Boston area and on Cape Cod. I have a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from Boston University, where I have also taught writing to undergraduates.
My teaching style is to start students within their comfort zone, help them build confidence, then take the areas they once thought were unreachable. I have found that I get the best results when I involve students in their own learning process as much as possible. It is a conversation, not a monologue, but the conversation must be useful, engaging, fun and guided by someone with the knowledge and expertise to insure the students’ experience is one of value and learning.
Aside from my teaching experience, I bring years of real world experience such running my own business, working for local non-profits and national corporations, volunteering with my wife all over the world. Students benefit greatly by being prepared for their lives after they finish school and by understanding how what they do in school will effect them later in life. If you are looking for a professional, reliable, experienced teacher to help your child progress faster and achieve more, I would love to speak with you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a BA degree from UCLA in film and television production. Additionally, I have made several short films and videos myself, and worked on three major motion pictures produced by Columbia Pictures, Tri-Star Pictures, and Paramount Pictures.
