My teaching philosophy is simply that every student can learn, achieve and succeed in mathematics if they have a positive attitude, have the proper educational guidance and are willing to put in the time. I am passionate about teaching mathematics and enjoy seeing students develop self-confidence, excellent study habits and advanced learning abilities over time. I instill in my students the importance of learning mathematics and make learning this subject an enjoyable experience. The education courses I have completed allow me to have a deeper appreciation and understanding of the complex learning issues that students encounter in public and private education. Students come from a variety of different educational backgrounds and each student has a unique learning style. I use my comprehensive understanding of education and learning styles to adjust my tutoring support to meet the individual needs of each student. I include positive reinforcement throughout my tutoring sessions, reassuring my students that they can learn and succeed. My positive approach allows my students to relax and start focusing on the material to be learned. I have had excellent success in motivating students and creating real results in academic achievement.
I welcome the opportunity to share my mathematical knowledge, effective study skills and positive learning approach with new students. Gregory is a phenomenal tutor. He is so brilliant in math and helping my daughter with geometry and feeling at ease in her learning style. He makes learning fun and math a subject not to feel intimidated by. A rare find! We hope to use him as often as possible!
Greg has been a great communicator and is very flexible with scheduling. My daughter says he has helped her a lot with statistics, and her grades have been good.
We are so thankful for the tutoring services of Greg N. He is patient and understanding of my son's ability with Physics which has helped my son tremendously.
Anyone out there who is looking for a good tutor ~ request Greg N, he great!
My daughter, who is presently a Junior in high school, has been taking Physics for the last two trimesters. She was experiencing major issues with her Physics class. She was not understanding the lessons, and her teacher was not being as helpful in class as we would have liked. She would come home stressed out and anxious, which was not helping the situation. Apparently there were many students lost and bewildered, and my daughter ended up receiving a C. My initial response, since she is a junior and her grades a vital in her acceptance to colleges, was to pull her out of Physics. The teachers and I were not seeing eye to eye, and since it was a two part class, they insisted that she complete the course, else it would look worst on her transcripts and thus her college applications. My second response was to obtain a tutor. I found WyzAnt, on-line, and began searching for physics tutors. I liked Gregory's profile, and after speaking to him we made plans for him to begin tutoring my daughter.
Gregory has made a world of difference. My daughter now understands the concepts behind what she is doing, and her confidence has skyrocketed tremendously. The teachers have commented on the change, not only with her grade but in regard to her attitude and confidence. Gregory has the ability to teach these concepts in a manner that these students understand. He is patient and extremely accommodating with his time. He has made schedule changes to accommodate my daughters work schedule, so that she would not miss a tutoring session. It is clear that Gregory puts the students needs first and he definitely goes above and beyond. My daughter currently has an 'A'! I would recommend Gregory to anyone who is need of a physics tutor. Thank you Gregory!!
I very much appreciate your patience and hard work with my son. My husband and I are very impressed with his sharp improvement in performance.
Greg tutored my daughter in Physics. In the beginning of the semester she was anxious because she did not understand the material and was fearful of failing. Greg is kind, patient, and explains concepts very well. I saw her confidence improve a great deal. My daughter had a 76 average and brought it up to an 89! She got a 96 on her final which was the second highest grade in the class. I highly recommend Greg as a tutor.
Greg was very professional, very knowledgeable, very patient, and very helpful. But above all, Greg was incredibly friendly, and was truly looking to help however he could. It was his people skills that really helped his math skills shine, and made it a lot easier to understand and learn from him. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a good tutor, and will definitely go back to him myself!
Gregory is patient and is easy to relate to. He has helped me with Calculus and AP Statistics. I would recommend him to anyone.
Greg is an exceptional tutor, who takes his time with the student. My daughter wishes she had been able to utilize his services all semester. He is above average! He also has a very pleasant manner about him.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am familiar with many of the difficulties that challenge algebra I students. The teaching experience that I have in this subject along with a very positive approach to learning has been key to my success in tutoring algebra I students. I welcome the opportunity to help you with your tutoring needs with algebra I.
Over the years, many of the students that I tutored through my private tutoring business needed help with prealgebra topics.
I have a deep understanding of the different types of learning issues that can arise in middle school math and possess the necessary experience needed to correct them.
