Fitchburg State University (Mathematics)
I am available to tutor the following subjects in Mathematics (middle/high school or college level): statistics, basic math, algebra, word problems, trigonometry, precalculus, calculus 1-4, geometry, business calculus, MCAS, SAT prep, linear algebra, probability.
The sessions will usually be held at a college library or bookstore, but willing to travel to your house if that works best for you. I live in Gardner, MA, but anywhere in central Mass. is perfectly fine.
A little about me...I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.92. I have over 8 years experience tutoring math at colleges and on a private basis. Not only am I a nationally certified peer tutor through the College Reading & Learning Association, but I am also licensed to teach math in the state of Massachusetts at the high school level. Also, I've worked professionally as a corporate trainer.
Tutoring is something I take very seriously. I care about your academic success. My patience is unparalleled, and I'm very easy to work with.

Aaron is a phenomenal statistics tutor. He has been my tutor for two separate MBA level statistics classes and his ability to translate seemingly complex formulas into easily digestible bits of simple math and english is unparalleled. Aaron has instilled a confidence in my own math abilities that I never was able to find in 20 years of formal schooling. He is truly remarkable.
Aaron is working with my son to prepare for the math section of the SAT. Aaron went through 40 problems (in just the 1st session) to evaluate my son's strengths and weaknesses, then made concrete suggestions for my son to work on in between sessions.
Aaron's tutoring skills provided my son with a solid math foundation. He went from a kid that hated and did poorly in Math to a student that helped his fellow students understand math concepts and received an Achievement Award for highest grade average in Probability and Statistics.
We had Aaron with with my daughter for 3 sessions (2 hours each I believe) to prepare for an Algebra 2 final. My daughter had a B- in the class, and the goal was keep the B-. My daughter's grade on the final was a D, and her grade slipped to a C+. Our goal was for her to maintain the B-. I'm not sure if the number of sessions was insufficient, or what could have been done to have her do better on her final. But I would recommend getting a tutor way ahead of the final, rather than just working for the last 2 weeks.
Aaron was responsible, well prepared, and prompt for the tutoring sessions. My daughter felt he had a good handle of the material and was able to answer her questions.
I would recommended Arron highly to anyone who needed a tutor. I was struggling in statistics and my husband suggested a tutor and actually went on-line to find Aaron. My test scores improved and I am able to maintain my 4.0 GPA even after statistics.
He is a Gem!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
