Hello! My name is Bruce, and I'm prepared and motivated to help students with their studies in Criminal Justice/Criminology and Psychology. I have graduate degrees in both Criminal Justice and Psychology, while I also have real world experience as a police officer of over 26 years, and also have experience as a clinician in mental health settings.
I have experience as a college instructor, having taught numerous online courses in various Criminal Justice and Psychology subjects, and I would love to help students succeed in both those fields.
In addition to a graduate degree in Psychology, I also have real world experience with assessment, intakes, individual & group psychotherapy, and case management.
I've been a police officer for over 26 years, with varied assignments including uniformed patrol, plainclothes anti-crime, special operations, and the drug control unit. I bring real world experience as well as solid academic preparation to tutoring sessions, making things not only productive, but interesting as well.
Whether you need help with research papers (subject ideas or research help) or grasping the sometimes overwhelming number of Criminological or Psychological theories, I'm always available to help, with a very flexible schedule and an easygoing manner that will immediately put you at ease. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have Associate's, Bachelor's, and Master's degrees in Criminal Justice, as well as many years of real world experience in the Criminal Justice system. I've taught multiple courses in various CJ subjects at both the college level and at the police academy, and have had excellent teacher ratings.
