About Nicolette

I am currently working as a Third Grade Teacher for Chicopee Public Schools. Previously I worked for Springfield Public Schools as a Math Teaching Fellow for grades 2-7. In addition, I have worked as a substitute teacher for grades K-8 in Ludlow and East Longmeadow. I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Education from Umass Amherst and my Masters in Elementary Education from Cambridge College.

One of my strengths as an educator is my ability to connect with students and make learning enjoyable. My number one believe is that learning should never result in tears. I struggled in both math and reading in elementary school so I feel that I can truly understand the challenges students face both in the classroom and when doing homework. I try to use my love of dogs, music, Disney, sports, and video games to connect with students and make learning both meaningful and enjoyable.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
