Hi. My name is Steve, and I would like to help you understand, and come to enjoy, the subject that I love – physics.

I have a pretty good background in the subject, having obtained a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cambridge, England and then a Master’s and PhD from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. I am comfortable with even quite advanced subject matter, but I really love to teach students of all ages and experience levels, particularly beginners.

In my "day job" I work as an educator at the Museum of Science in Boston, where we aim to offer a fun learning experience to every visitor. It’s quite a challenge, but helping someone to attain a deeper insight into a physical phenomenon with some simple equipment and a little patience is the most rewarding thing I know, and this is what I aim for as a tutor too.

Physics is not a subject that comes easily to everybody. Perhaps that is because it requires skills that we are not born with and that we may not have had a chance to acquire in school. Please be assured though - they are skills that we can all develop, given the right combination of hard work, perseverance and a skilled teacher. So whatever your situation – maybe you’re struggling in class and you need to improve your grades, or you have a big exam coming up that you feel unprepared for - please get in touch. I would love to hear from you.

Together we’ll get through it, and we’ll have some fun in the process.

Informative, Patient, and Fun!

Highly recommended! Steve is always helpful and timely. My son likes his patience and the way he instructs is very clear.

Knowledgeable and patient physics Tudor

Steve worked through problems and concepts that I was not good at and now understand and got correct. He was able to teach it in a way that makes sense. I meet with him every week and comes to our house. It is an AP class and allows me to build confidence in what we are doing.

Great results with Steve

He asks the right questions to identify the problem areas. Easy to work with and keeps it simple. Steve is familiar with the textbooks and teachers. He works through problems slowly and makes the student feel comfortable with asking questions. Highly recommend!

Has helped me develop my problem solving skills

Steve knows a lot about physics which is a weakness of mine. When we started I would describe myself as clueless but now I feel like I can keep up with the rest of my class.

Patient and knowledgeable tutor who cares!

Steve is a great tutor! He is very methodical when teaching algebraic equations and super patient. He really tries to accommodate your schedule to tutor you. He is very thorough and even follows back up to see how you did on tests and quizzes. I would highly recommend Steve to tutor you!

Well informed and easy to understand

My daughter is being tutored by Steve. Her college physics professor does not seem to be relaying the course material well. Steve has been a huge help in getting my daughter to understand the concepts she was having trouble with in a easy to follow approach. He is very solid in the subject matter and has given her confidence in how to approach the problems.
