About George

Do you struggle with writing assignments? Are you unsure how to start, how to make your point, or how to maintain a narrative? Does your mind go blank when you try to express yourself in an essay? If so, I can help you. I am a Massachusetts certified educator with two licenses to teach ELA at both the junior high and senior high school levels. I am a Magna cum Laude university graduate with fourteen years of graduate and post graduate work in English and journalism, the natural sciences, education, languages (Mandarin and German), and Masters level English.

In addition, I am a veteran, award-winning journalist with 33-years of full-time professional writing experience and more than 6,000 published by-lined stories. My great love was writing, but my true joy and my most important job is teaching. Let me help you over the hard parts, and clear away the uncertainties of literary analysis, creative and narrative writing, and understanding what you read. (middle-, high-school,and college writing, test preparation --MCAS, ACT, PSAT, SAT-- essay, etc.)

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
