Rudy is fantastic tutor, period. Without a doubt, Rudy enjoys both teaching and interacting with students- and he is definitely five star quality. I was very impressed with him at our first meeting. I enjoy his approach to problem solving because he is extremely mathematical and experienced. In addition to helping me understand concepts at a deeper level, Rudy takes time to follow-up with me over phone and is very easy to reach if I need to ask quick questions.
Rudy Y is an excellent tutor. He is fully knowledgeable about the subject Economics, very patient and he helped me understand the materials step by step. I learned a great deal from Rudy. Taking this course online was a challenge because it is a self taught, but what I've learned from Rudy, I will carry on for full semester and do well in this course. I recommend Rudy to anyone who needs assistance with Economics. I have no doubt that you will have the same positive experience that I had.
I contacted Rudy the day before my final exam and he jumped into action. He wanted me to send him the sample final my prof gave us, as well as the textbook and syllabus. He came prepared, which made me think he spent an hour or so before the lesson, which he did not charge me for.
Rudy knew his stuff and explained it to me in a way that I understood. He reinforced the key concepts that had not sunk in for me over the semester, and I feel much more prepared for this final.
Rudy is an excellent tutor! By far one of the best tutors I have ever had. He took the time to create day by day lesson plans, find questions for me to do while revising on my own (with an answer sheet) as well as find me books that would help me on the specific parts of economics I was having trouble with. He is great at explaining concepts in a way that I could understand. I was in particular having trouble with calculations, but he cleared all those problems right up! I would highly recommend Rudy to anyone who needed help in economics! He definitely made the subject interesting and fun to learn!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My key pedagogical strength is to use graphical methods to develop the intuition/reasoning underlying solution to both microeconomic and macroeconomic problems.
That said, the key to doing very well in an economics courses is to solve problems. Reading and understanding the concepts is Necessary by NOT Sufficient for doing well on exams. In sum, both macro and microeconomics are great courses for learning how to become a quantitative analyst/problem solver in any discipline, especially Finance/Asset Management!
Having solved "real world" financial problems as a Wall Street product developer (VP-Chase Manhattan Bank)and international development finance consultant (Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Indonesia, Nigeria), I can impart to students a strong motivation for learning the material. Finance is one field where (for the most part) classroom concepts and theories are immediately applicable in the real world. Hence, my delight in teaching the subject.
