My passion for teaching comes from the rewarding experience of helping students accomplish their goals. My own academic achievements demonstrate that I understand the effort and techniques required to reach the highest possible levels of academia. I was previously a PhD student and teaching assistant in economics at CU - Boulder. I'm currently a Multivariable Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, and AP Economics teacher at Salisbury School, a private boarding school, in Salisbury, Connecticut. I hold a master's degree in economics from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, and a bachelor's degree in political economy from Williams College.
I am focused on teaching: Math and English, SAT Prep (99th percentile), GRE Prep (98th percentile), and College Applications.
I'm experienced in teaching all levels of math and English to students of various abilities. My lesson plans target strengthening weaknesses while keeping the material interesting and engaging. I assign homework, unless otherwise instructed, and offer periodic progress reports.
Additionally, having scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT and graduating from the #1 liberal arts college in the country, I am thrilled to help students gain entrance to college. I enjoy helping students think strategically about the college application process, perfect their college essay, and create an application that will be difficult for admission officers to overlook.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I worked for three years for an executive search firm. I spent countless hours reviewing resumes, reading cover letters, and interviewing job candidates. This line of work gave me a lot of insight into how people present themselves to prospective employers as well as what signals employers are looking for.
I have studied and successfully managed the college application process many times, for myself and for 5 of my students. I start the process by narrowing down the student's academic interests and personal fit, then strategically choose which schools to apply to, and then craft an application that highlights their strengths and compatibility. Through my research, I understand what admissions officers are looking for, and whether or not a certain student would be a good fit for a particular school.
I have taken and scored well in advanced econometrics courses from three different universities: Williams College, the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, and the University of Colorado. I am currently taking the highest level of econometrics, theoretical econometrics, in pursuit of my PhD. I am also experienced with applied econometrics, utilizing software such as MATLAB and STATA and then synthesizing the results towards research efforts.
