My name is Danielle I am currently a student at Umass Dartmouth, I am studying business and I love to learn. I love to read in my free time and volunteer when ever I can. While I am at school I work as a tutor at a local elementary school I tutor students in math and reading.
My job allows me to build relationships with the students and the teachers and it is especially rewarding to see the students that I tutor excel in their trouble subjects.
Through my experiences working with students and being a student myself I have learned that everyone has different learning styles and everyone learns at their own pace. It is easy for students to fall behind when the teacher has to work with a whole classroom full of students. I feel that once a student figures out their learning style they are opened up to all types of information and learning is much more fun.
I have been proficient at math throughout my school career and it is a subject that comes very easily to me.
I love to read and write and my skills in writing have continuously improved through my college career.
I can help students understand confusing subjects I have no problem taking the time to make sure it is understood. Patience is key! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
