I am a professional published writer (articles and books) with solid journalism credentials (nominated for a Pulitzer Prize) . I became a writing teacher about 20 years ago and discovered I had real skill and gift for it. Students loved learning to write with me.
I have taught college-level and professional writing for 20 years, most of it in freshman writing courses. My students give me fine evaluations. What I love to hear most is: "You make it so simple!"
Writing is simple, and almost anyone can be good at it. You just need to learn the right skills and practice them until they are habitual.
I have my own writing method, published as the Newsweek College Writing Guide.
I will give challenging, but not too challenging homework, so you can develop the skills needed.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
