Hi I'm Isabel! I am a junior at Harvard University working towards my bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Public Policy, with a secondary degree in Integrative Biology (Organismic Evolutionary Biology). I also am working towards a language citation from Harvard University in Spanish. I am extremely passionate about math and science, and love that tutoring allows me to share this excitement with students who may view those subjects as difficult and uninteresting. My favorite teachers have always been those who can make the class interested in anything through fun and engaging lessons, and my goal is to emulate this in my own teachings! Each tutoring lesson starts with a topic introduction that aims to provide a fun background and allow the student to make real world connections (which has been proven to increase performance on tests). This is followed by more explicit teaching that varies in amount on a case-by-case basis. Finally, time is allowed for the student to practice on their own, work on homework, or work through challenging problems together if confusion remains.

I have significant math and science experience in both high school and college. In high school, I received a 5 on 4 AP exams including Calculus AB and Physics 1. In college, I have completed the equivalent of Calculus BC and Multivariable Calculus as well as Biology, Introductory Physics and Mechanics, and Genetics among other life science courses. I have 5 years of tutoring experience in high school classrooms for students in Algebra 1, Algebra 2 Honors, Geometry Honors, and Honors Precalculus and Trigonometry. I also have 1 year of tutoring experience for a K-12 school teaching Elementary (K-6th) math and science which included introductory biology, physics, and chemistry.
