I have one year of experience teaching Spanish to English native speakers. I taught for small/medium sized groups while I was living in the UK. I've also given private tuitions for intermediate and advanced students, but all levels are more than welcome! I like to teach both to children and adults. My Spanish teaching focuses in all aspects of the language and culture. I usually provide theory as well as exercises to practice on your own. For that purpose, I use a wide range of sources such as videos, word games, stories, articles from newspapers and so on. I do my best to make you love the language of Cervantes! I'm very attentive to your needs and adjust my teaching to them.
What is the thing that I love most about teaching? It is making people feel comfortable while learning Spanish. I like to create an atmosphere of confidence and trust between me and the students. And don't forget that learning Spanish can be fun! I have always thought that the best way to learn is through play. So, why do you struggle to learn it when you can get into it in a more joyful way?
Do you want to know more about me? I'm from Madrid (Spain) and I have a degree in Political Science and a Masters in Education and Literature. In Cambridge, I've volunteered for the program of Reading Buddies "Lectores y Amiguitos" of the Amigos School. In Spain I work in a Center for Adult Education teaching Literature and I also run a book club. I've come to Cambridge with my husband for a sabbatical year. So I know very well what it's to try to express yourself in a different language, with different words and sometimes feeling frustrated for not being able to say clearly what you really think. I will be more than happy to help you! I have one year of experience teaching Spanish to English native speakers. I taught for small/medium sized groups while I was living in the UK. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
