About Enass

I was born and raised in the Arab world, and Arabic is my first language. I enjoy helping others and find teaching immensely rewarding. Having studied different languages, I relate to how students learn a new language, and would love to share the fun ways that make learning an enjoyable experience.

I have taught all levels of MSA Arabic. In 2012, 2013 and 2014, I taught Arabic language and culture at Georgetown University, for regular and intensive classes. In 2012, I taught at Middlebury College, Total Immersion Summer Course. My course was advanced intermediate MSA Arabic, and intermediate Levantine (spoken) Arabic. In 2014, I also taught first level students at George Washington University. I also tutored students of different ages.

My teaching is completely designed based on the level, interests and goals of each student. I am a strong advocate of cultural approaches and have found that introducing language through culture is one of the most enjoyable and effective ways of learning Arabic. I assign short films, art works, social media posts, and news as part of the material to study the language.

On the personal level, I am cordial, reliable and professional. I look forward to meeting and tutoring new students in the Philadelphia area.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Arabic

Arabic is my native language. I studied history and literature in Arabic. I taught Arabic at three different accredited Universities in the United States. I have tutored students of different ages for years.
