About JANAYA

I want to be a tutor because I know how important mentors are for students seeking academic support. I understand the value of education and hope to provide students with whom I work, the opportunity to engage and truly connect with their work. I enjoy teaching students with topics and examples they can understand.

Outside of the classroom, I hang out with friends and enjoy the wonders of life. I am a premed student at MIT (currently taking the semester off) who wants to make strides in the field of cancer. I desire to make an impact on the world far greater than what is expected of me. As a dedicated student, I know the significance of education and the power of learning; so, I wish to pass on any knowledge or skill I possess to make this earth a better place.

Biology:
Biology is one of my favorite subjects. As a premed student, I enjoy studying genetics, in particular the processes of cell signaling and DNA replication. I can teach photosynthesis and cell respiration. My weakness is plant biology/botany.

Chemistry:
I am rather well-versed in chemistry. I can explain the basics, as well as go in depth on a number of topics. I particularly enjoy kinetics and thermodynamics.

Math:
I have been taught upto Calculus 2, but I'd feel most comfortable teaching Pre-calculus and under.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
