I hold a teaching license in both Massachusetts and New Jersey for Elementary and Middle School Education as well as Special Education. I have helped many students who are struggling academically with a learning disability and other conditions that affect the student from fully accessing the curriculum to their full potential.
Since graduating college, I have been in the teaching field for 4 years. I have taught in both Elementary and Middle School. I teach Middle School Special Education at a public school outside of Boston. I have attended many teacher training courses to help advance my skills in the teaching field. I have a great rapport with all of my students.
With my training and experience in Special Education I am able to quickly identify areas needed for improvement and where they currently are academically. I am also able to design specific targeted instruction and lessons to meet the needs of the student while creating am environment that is creative and fun to learn! I will also work on helping students gain confidence in learning and instill a desire to succeed academically.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I hold a MA state teaching license in Mild to Moderate Disabilities. I have a successful track record for helping students with ADD/ADHD thrive in the classroom. I am patient, consistent and provide a creative, engaging learning environment. My instruction for students who are struggling with ADD/ADHD is differentiated to help accommodate multiple learning styles. I help students become organized in school, and outside of the classroom. I help these students develop ways to prioritize tasks to reduce anxiety and distraction.
I have both an educational background and teaching experience in my career that has provided me with the appropriate qualifications to help students diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder to succeed to their maximum potential. I hold a degree in Special Education. My overall goal is to help autistic students learn mechanisms for coping with their disorder and techniques to help them adapt to their communities. I am a licensed teacher in Special Education (mild to moderate needs). I provide a teaching approach that is multi-sensory to help students with dyslexia access the curriculum in a systematic, differentiated approach to learning. To help a student with dyslexia, I provide lessons that are build on visual and kinesthetic practices to help them develop the skills needed to succeed and to be a successful learner in the classroom.

As an Elementary and Special education teacher, I have worked creating and delivering many lessons to help build students phonics skills. I have training in The Wilson Fundations program. I believe having a student have a strong sense of letter/ sound relationship will improve their phonics skills.
