Hello! I have several thousand hours of tutoring experience, successfully transforming all of my students into masters of their fields of study. If you select me as your tutor, I will translate my experience of over 10 years of study at MIT and Harvard and perfect standardized test scores into success for you. I have a strong track record of providing tailored, highly personalized instruction to students of all ages, in virtually all fields of study. My strategy involves first inquiring to figure out where you are in your learning, and how to best communicate with you. Then I break down your subject matter into very easy-to-understand pieces that I teach you in a logical order so that you can comfortably and confidently build your knowledge until you have truly mastered your field of study--from math to science to programming to standardized test preparation. This has worked time and time again for my hundreds of students! I have never had a problem ensuring that any of my students is able to learn and truly understand whatever it is that they are studying. My approach is highly efficient; I can assure you that you will learn very quickly through my teaching style, and that you will find my services well worth your time and resources.

I currently have 4 engineering degrees from MIT (where I did my undergrad), and am working on both a PhD in engineering at MIT and an MBA at Harvard Business School. I have received perfect math scores on all standardized tests, and have enabled all of my students to achieve their goals. I have work experience in consulting and engineering.

My standards of teaching are extremely high, as is my excellent ability to assess your needs and teach you what you need in the way that suits you best. I recognize that people have very different learning styles, and come form a wide variety of different backgrounds. I am particularly skilled at determining the right content and style of teaching so that you can master your subject area.

I have a real passion for teaching people of all ages in virtually all fields of study. I have earned perfect math and science scores on the vast majority of standardized testing that I have taken (800 SAT, 36 ACT, 800 GRE, etc.). I have tutored several students and adults of ages ranging from 6-55 in a variety of areas. I am able to teach at all levels, including elementary school, high school, college, and post-graduate students. I am firmly confident in my ability to teach you what you need to know in order to succeed, and teach you how to think so that you can use efficient problem solving techniques in life after our work together. I have historically most commonly taught math, science, programming, German, and standardized test prep (SAT/ACT/GMAT/GRE/PSAT/LSAT/asvab), though I am open to many other fields of study.

I have completed / am completing five engineering degrees from MIT (two Bachelor's, two Master's, and a Ph.D.), where I also earned minors in Applied International Studies and German. I have also completed part of the full-time MBA program at Harvard University. I love to teach, and would be glad to speak with you about anything you'd like to learn, review, or otherwise reinforce. I am here for you, and when I work for you, you will have all of my attention, and what I believe to be a very powerful academic resource at your assistance.

I consider myself a real people-person who thrives when interacting with others. I rose to the rank of Eagle Scout back in scouting during my high school days, and love to take on leadership roles of increasing responsibility, including teaching my students what they need in order to succeed. I come from a transient military family and have five brothers, so I am used to frequently meeting and working with new people. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring, and hope to continue broadening the academic horizons of students here in the Greater Boston Area.

I was valedictorian of my high school and have a wealth of knowledge and personal experience with tutoring students for school and standardized test preparation--I would be happy to share what I know with you.

My work experience includes consulting at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and Samsung Group's Global Strategy Group. I have also worked as an aerospace engineer at Boeing and mechanical engineer at BMW in Germany. I will be working as a consultant at McKinsey & Company this upcoming summer.

Excellent teacher, very patient, focused and dedicated to his work

He helped me understand the concept of programming by explaining to me functions in Java how they work, analyzed to me the arrays why we use and we helped me with my exam kai my project!

Knowledgable, persistent

I've had four general physics tutorial sessions with Ian and my comprehension has increased significantly in a short amount of time. Ian goes through each problem thoroughly and does not move on unless you understand the concepts. He can verbally explain very complicated and very simple concepts with clarity and complement these with mathematical equations. I highly recommend Ian for university-level physics tutoring.
