I'm very empathetic, with a well-developed ability of seeing the other person's perspective and adapting accordingly. I believe that's the main factor differentiating me from others out there. My strengths are clarifying concepts and coaching standardized exams, especially the SAT and GREs. In addition, I have a very mild, calm, laid back personality and strive to create a safe and conducive atmosphere.
I'm a physics graduate student at Harvard, with a physics degree from Princeton. I'm a excellent taker of standardized tests, having scored 2290/2400 in SAT I (over 99th percentile); 2400/2400 SAT II (Math IIc, Physics, Bio M); 31 or 32 on the ACT; 990/990 on the physics GRE, etc. In high school, I qualified twice for the International Physics Olympiad, as part of the Romanian team. As a Teaching Assistant at Harvard, I've received a certificate of distinction in teaching (awarded for overall student ratings > 4.5/5).

We worked through a GRE math problem set together and Edvin very patiently helped me figure out what I most needed to improve, and how to develop more efficient strategies for solving difficult problems.
Edvin is an excellent tutor, very professional and extremely knowledgeable. My son has learned a lot. I would highly recommend Edvin.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
