“**I never thought I could learn a language, but I was wrong!**”

I am a female mathematician, PhD. After defending PhD, I had a post-doctoral fellowship at one of the oldest European University, the University of Coimbra (Portugal). My specialization is Abstract Algebra (including Linear Algebra), Mathematical Logic and Number Theory. I have published numerous research papers at International mathematical

After Spanish lessons in grade school, French lessons in high school and Italian lessons in college were all an abject failure, life brought me to Russian, and Dali. I have advanced further in the past few weeks than I ever would have thought possible. Not only am I experiencing the excitement of learning a new skill, but it is really building my confidence. Dali is excellent at training me in pronunciation, writing and comprehension with seamless integration. She makes sure that I understand each lesson before we move on, and never rushes me when I feel confused. She pushes me in a good way, knows what I need more practice in and is extremely responsive when I need help or explanations. It's also fun and interesting to chat about cultural differences that come up in our text. Highly recommended!

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have PhD in Mathematics, and I am specialized in abstract algebra, which includes linear algebra. I can explain in a professional level all aspects of linear algebra, including calculating issues, but especially proofs. There are many textbooks in linear algebra, and they present the subject from different aspects. I can teach this subject according any textbook that student needs, with any level of the depth.

Russian is my second native language after Georgian. I taught several mathematical disciplines in Russian at one of Universities. I published several papers in scientific journals in Russian.

Recently I gave lessons in Russian language to several English-speaking students. Having an experience in teaching mathematics and knowing Russian grammar well, I think I manage to be a successful teacher of Russian language. I follow "Russian for beginners" by Charles Duff & Dmitri Makaroff, and also S. A. Khavronina and A. I. Shirochenskaya "Russian in exercises." My approach to teach Russian is based on two concepts: (i)understanding grammar rules, and (ii) applying many exercises for one and the same material.
