Professionally, I am a litigation attorney with a background in health law and healthcare policy.

My strengths as a tutor include an emphasis on critical thinking and analysis. I work with my students on analyzing and "breaking-down" information and data to determine the substantive material.

This approach is particularly helpful in preparing students for standardized tests, LSAT preparation, and Bar Review.

Great Tutor

Andrew tutored me for the February 2014 Florida Bar Exam. Andrew was an outstanding tutor. He was extremely quick to follow up with any communication I tried to make with him and was extremely accommodating. When he didn't hear from me for awhile over the holidays (while I was still trying to decide how I was going to approach studying), he shot me an email just to check to see how I was doing with studying and gave me some extra tips completely out of the blue. I sincerely appreciated this gesture, as it let me know that Andrew was actually concerned about my success. As far as lessons go, Andrew and I worked remotely due to an injury I suffered which didn't allow me to drive. I would write an essay under timed conditions and email it to Andrew for grading and comments. Andrew got every essay back to me within 48 hours, and the majority got back to me the next day. His comments were clear on the essay, and he also would write a summary of what I did well, what I could do better on, and how I could do better on those things that needed improvement. He also invited any comments from me, which allowed us to have a sort of "back-and-forth" on various strategies. I found this helped to drive some points home for me and was extremely helpful once I got into the exam. Andrew was also willing to work with any time/cost restraints I requested when I was struggling financially. For instance, if I asked that he only spent an hour or two hours grading something, he was more than willing to fit with those requests while still giving incredible feedback. Beyond that, he also talked to me just about some things about self-confidence and doing my best on the exam. If you haven't taken a bar exam before, these are important lessons. The exam is a grind and extremely taxing on your psyche. As a repeat taker, I have to admit that my self-confidence was lacking. Andrew definitely helped in that area. I am awaiting results (hoping I passed), but Andrew provided me with great feedback that I think helped me immensely on the exam. After the exam, he also followed up with me to see how it went which I appreciated. There's always some self-doubt after the bar (especially, again, as a repeat taker) although I feel I did well this time. Andrew reminded me that the exam is over, I prepared well, and to just relax until I get my (hopefully passing!) score. His commitment to not only developing the skills needed to pass, but also self-confidence, was very impressive to me. I'd recommend Andrew to anyone without hesitation.

Andrew reviewed my son's FRQ's for his upcoming AP Gov exam. He covered strategies for approaching the multiple choice questions and essay questions. Fantastic first meeting!

This meeting was exactly what I was hoping for, I received great feedback on what I had to come up with and Andrew presented numerous ideas on what I could add to my paper. What also really helped was that Andrew was open to me sending him my outline as well as the sources I had collected at the time so he had a chance to review them before our first meeting, he was extremely prepared to go in detail about my outline and my sources and this truly helped the overall productivity of the meeting. And Andrew also let me know that I could continue to send him ideas as well as sources prior to our next meeting for the same reason and to help me get started on the first few pages of my paper.
