About Claire

Classically trained in the violin since the age of 8, Claire somehow lost her way to the orchestra. An avid fan of Indie Rock and Trip Hop, these influences are piercingly evident in her signature style of haunting and ceaselessly fluid melodies.

Born and raised in Singapore, she started out playing the piano at the age of 5, and began teaching classical violin at 16. Soon after, Claire decided to pursue music full-time after finishing Secondary School. That was when she began performing gigs all around Singapore since 2004, playing folk/acoustic/rock originals and covers.

Claire has had the honour to perform for gigs and festivals across the world, including the 2011 SXSW Music Festival in Austin, the 2012 Ho Hai Yan Music Festival in Taiwan and the 2013/14 Singapore Grand Prix.

She moved to Boston in 2013 to study at Berklee College of Music, choosing to focus in jazz and bluegrass violin. She also decided to study music production and is also a record producer and audio engineer.

Claire loves all types of music and is always open to new ideas, collaborations and projects. She currently fronts the band, Paper Citizen, who is to release their debut EP on September 1st, 2016.

She also plays electric violin, mandolin and guitar in the Folk-Hop band, Mad Yonder.

She graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2016 with a degree in Music Production & Engineering as well as Pro Music. Minor in Instrument Repair.

Claire has a Performance Diploma from Trinity in classical violin. She is highly proficient in Digital Audio Workstations such as Pro Tools and Logic. Claire is a Multi-Instrumentalist, and is also proficient in Guitar (acoustic and electric), Mandolin and Piano.

Contact her with any questions you have! She looks forward to hearing from you.

Claire G Pro Tools/Mixing/Editing Tutor Session — I learned so much in today's hour session that has been a frustrating mystery up until now. Claire G. is very knowledgeable about minute details but also has the absolute best quality you can hope for in a tutor - she knows her subject so well she decipher and explain conceptually Why to do a certain step or process. In music and recording software, this is particularly difficult. Claire G. ...
