Hello! I am a tutor with experience in private tutoring, both 1-on-1 and in a group. I can tutor in a variety of subjects including Math, Science, English, and Japanese!
My teaching experience comes from teaching all different study topics, students ages and backgrounds. Working at a Math and Reading Center gave me experience teaching children before pre-school to high school seniors in Math, Reading, and Phonetics. In college I worked as an academic mentor advising in course selections, study skills, and help across a broad range of subjects for first year undergraduate students. I have also worked at non-profits helping with ESL for immigrant adults in job searches and job applications as well.
Everyone learns differently, so there's no way I can guarantee a specific grade, but what I CAN guarantee is eternal patience, genuine interest in students' learning, and always a warm smile! :)

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I received an A for all of the biology courses that I have taken so far in my academic career. My current college major is in the biology field, and I also got a 4 on the AP Biology exam. I have led study groups among my friends to prepare for exams, and I was known to have good teaching skills.
While I worked at the Math and Reading Center, most of the children I taught were elementary school or middle school students. I have experience with students who have a difficult time focusing on their work, as well as very young students who are simply disinterested in the material. I also love to care for little kids in general and have always enjoyed volunteering in after school activities.

I regularly use MS Outlook to get my emails, so I know the basics: send/receive emails, make a contacts list, make new folders for organization, etc. I am familiar with the layout of the software and I also know how to customize the display. In addition to the basic email features, I know how to use the task, calendar, and notes feature as well.
Because I was an immigrant I can relate to all those who are on their way to mastering the English language! I have passed my English classes with A's and luckily never had to take the TOEFL exam. I have experience teaching English phonics, reading comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary.
