Hi there! My name is Henry and I recently graduated magna cum laude from NYU with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. I have also been accepted to dental school, and will matriculate at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in August 2023.

My experience with teaching began in high school, when I started the Brookline Tutor Mentor Program with a few of my close friends. In addition to coordinating the program, I also functioned as a one-on-one math tutor for a student as he progressed from 4th to 7th grade. During undergrad, I further refined my teaching skills as a student Learning Assistant (LA) for both introductory and upper level Chemistry courses. This taught me how devise more substantive lesson plans and host more structured sessions with students.

Since the pandemic, I have spent a few hours every Sunday providing free technology assistance to elderly folks in one of Brookline's senior residences. While most of the populace does not have to think twice about using Facebook or hopping on a Zoom call, these actions can be conceptually difficult for seniors to grasp. Serving in this capacity, I have exercised patience, but more importantly, I have become better at taking things slow, and guiding the tutee, rather than explicitly showing them the way.

In addition to help with school coursework, I am also happy to assist with test prep. I recently scored in the 99.9% percentile on the DAT (Dental Admissions Test) with perfect scores in the Biology and Chemistry subsections. I am well versed in material covered on the MCAT, DAT, SAT and ACT.

I recently scored in the 99th percentile on the Dental Admission Test (DAT), and would be more than happy to help you with your own DAT studies! My favorite subjects to teach are general chemistry, biology, and perceptual ability, but I am able to help with any section of the test. After graduating with honors from NYU in 2022, I will be starting as a D1 at the UConn School of Dental Medicine this August.

Physiology

I was a biology major in college, with a focus on pre-health. I earned an A in my anatomy and physiology course, and also revived a near perfect score in the Biology section of the Dental Admissions Test (DAT), which covered human physiology.

I recently scored in the 99th percentile on the Dental Admissions Test. The Dental Admissions Test is composed of 6 sections: Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Perceptual Ability, Reading Comprehension, and Quantitative Reasoning. While I can certainly help work through problems and review concepts in the BBFL and CPBS sections, I'm also happy to advise on test prep strategy and scheduling.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Henry has very solid background of biology and he understands my questions and what I needs. He explained the knowledge clearly and made me understand easily. I will stay with him.

Excellent and helpful tutor

I’ve been confused on this material for a while now, but Henry was able to explain it in a way I actually understood. I’m confident I can use the concepts he explained to me to continue learning on my own. Tutors I’ve had in the past have explained things to me in a more complicated way that didn’t make sense to me, but Henry taught me the general concepts in a straightforward way so that I was able to apply it moving forward.
