About Claudette

Dear Student,

Becoming an instructor/tutor for you would be an ideal way to share my love for the arts and be around like-minded individuals.

In 2007, I relocated to Massachusetts from Toronto, Canada for my plans of starting a new life in Boston. I am at another phase in my life that is directing me back to an industry where my true passion and talents lies.

I would appreciate an opportunity to demonstrate that I am suitable for your tutoring needs. Not only am I a skilled tailor, I am an avid DIY, photography, illustrator, and craft fanatic. I previously owned a small manufacturing plant producing professional apparel for the medical and corporate industry. I still own an extensive collection of industrial and domestic machines. I am an advocate for life-long learning especially in the field of arts and craft.

Although, I have a degree in Apparel Design, I believe that my creativity and interpersonal skills are my most stellar qualities. I am resourceful, self-motivated, team player, problem solver, work well under pressure, and detailed-oriented. I am very comfortable working with a diverse group of people from high-executives, children, business owners, to sewing operators with varying ethnicity.

I am flexible and accommodating to each student's level and needs to meet their objectives and goals. I commute regularly in Cambridge, Sterling, and Brockton area. I am willing to travel further if larger group classes are needed. I look forward in meeting you and hoping that this teaching opportunity will become a synergistic collaboration. Please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Det

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Knowledgeable, patient and friendly Tutor. — Claudette taught me some things about my new serger sewing machine. I learned how to thread the machine using 4 spools and 3 spools of thread. She also taught me about the different tensions on different types of fabrics. I liked her teaching me because she didn't rush through the class and she had me show her that I felt comfortable threading and using the machine. She was friendly as well as exp ...
