If there is one thing tutoring writing in all subjects taught me, it's that writing is a process. Improve the process, and you'll improve the writing!
I've been a writing and humanities tutor for three years, and now I'm a teaching assistant in the English Department at Suffolk University. I teach because I truly love watching my students grow through writing, the mastery of which will not only improve their grades and test scores (such as the SAT, ACT, or GRE), but prepare them to market their skills in the job market as their studies progress toward careers. I'm College Reading and Learning Association certified, and I've been teaching and tutoring for over 3 years. I also specialize in assisting students for whom English is a second language. As a student who graduated summa cum laude and has moved on to study writing in graduate school, I know what it takes to excel in writing and I know you can write well! Let me give you some tips.
I can help you with ESL/ESOL, English, grammar, literature, writing, and reading comprehension.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I'm a College Reading and Learning Association certified writing tutor with two years of experience working at the Suffolk University Center for Learning and Academic Success, and am currently a teaching assistant in the English department there. As an independent tutor, I work with students, mostly at the college and graduate level, to improve their overall writing skills and to develop successful writing strategies. I also have a lot of experience working with English Language Learners. I am familiar with both MLA and APA. I'm currently pursuing an MFA in writing at Lesley University.
