I love teaching science - there are so many interesting things happening in the world that it is a great opportunity to put these events in perspective with students.
I have a PhD in Chemistry and an MBA in Marketing. My business background came about as a result of my strong interest in optimal selection and guiding of R&D projects in my industrial experience (WR Grace, Millipore, and Procter and Gamble (P&G) - please ask me about the amazing science behind bubbles!). After a career in industrial R&D, I started teaching high school science and have now transitioned into tutoring.
I love patiently answering questions about why a particular science is useful, and can can become entertainingly animated when solving problems.
If you are looking for someone patient, knowledgeable, and excited about science and teaching, then please contact me. I'd love to help.

Bob was great and very patient with my daughter. He encouraged her and gave her confidence. He made time for her in his busy schedule knowing she only had a short amount of time to study prior to finals. If need be I would hire Bob again. Thanks Bob!Darlene, 4 lessons with RobertTutor responded:
Thank you, Darlene, for your kind comments. Patrice is a great student, so she should get much of the credit. She made it interesting and relatively easy. If you ever need me again, I'd lower my rate for the privilege of working with you and Patrice. She will do well.
Kind, helpful, available, and effective teacher.
Robert is helping me complete a final photoshop project. He taught me basic and some advanced techniques (since this is not intuitive). He was able to come to my home and see where I was having trouble. Additionally he explained the reason behind some of the processes which I found very helpful.Tina, 1 lesson with Robert
Conscientious, thorough, and fun
Bob is working with my two seventh-graders to strengthen their math skills. He is helping them to fill in any gaps from things they missed in previous years, and he is preparing them for the years ahead. Bob has assessed the kids well so that they are working on exactly what they need to be working on. He is attentive to their needs and makes sure that they understand the concepts thoroughly. He is also working with them on test-taking skills. He manages to make all this fun, so the kids stay engaged. We're so glad we found Bob!Brend, 6 lessons with Robert

Robert has been working with my son to help him catch up on some confusing chemistry topics. He has an engaging way of making chemistry "real" to people and Martin is learning a lot from him as a result.MARTIN, 3 lessons with Robert

Thanks, Sandra, Michael is making it stress-free more than I am. He really works hard, and I love his grin when the calculations are correct. These are not easy calculations, so success makes great feedback for everyone. Thanks, Bob
