Hello! My name is Shanna and I am currently getting my masters in medical sciences as well as applying to doctorate programs for clinical psychology. I received my bachelors of science in psychology with a pre-med focus from Loyola University Chicago and graduated cum laude. I have always had a passion for teaching and am very excited to share my passion with my students. I have been tutoring a variety of subjects for the last 8 years and have developed a way to make learning both fun and efficient! In terms of my qualifications for Spanish tutoring: I have been studying Spanish for the last 15 years. I started taking classes when I was in middle school and finished every class that my undergraduate institution offered with an A average. I also studied in Spain for a prolonged period of time where I was able to converse and fully practice the language with native speakers. I have tutored Spanish in the past to some friends as a hobby and am excited to take my passion of teaching to new students!

Spanish is a very prominent language in many popular fields in the world. To have competency in a language that is so widespread is a skill that will open up a wide range of opportunities for anyone who chooses to study it. In my experience studying to be a physician, I have noticed that fluency in this language has been a huge part of my success as a pre-med in the healthcare industry. I am able to converse with patients of many backgrounds, and assist in translating for doctors in the field. I encourage students to have this skill as it has helped me in the healthcare industry and in many other fields.
