My name is Austin and I'm currently a Master's student at Northeastern University studying Bioengineering - Biomechanics. I studied Engineering Science and Mechanics at Virginia Tech for my undergraduate degree, so I have a healthy love and appreciation for math and physics! Outside of school, I love to cook, read, and work on all sorts of other nerdy hobbies.

It's my goal to help you not only succeed and get better grades studying math, but to also gain a better understanding as a whole. I am well aware of the shortcomings of math instruction in the classroom, and will do my best to accommodate you or your student. You can come to me with any questions you have, whether it be homework, test prep, or general curiosity! I understand that every person learns differently, and I am accustomed to explaining topics in multiple ways. I guarantee that I will do everything I can to help you understand and apply the concepts you are being taught!

I've already seen all of the math that you're learning in school, as I am currently studying at the graduate level. Additionally, I minored in math in college, and my engineering degree had a higher emphasis on math and physics. I also frequently seek out and try to understand new topics that I find interesting.

I first started doing CAD when I was a sophomore in high school, nearly eight years ago. While I didn't start learning on Solidworks until junior year of college, I have a good understanding of how CAD software works in general, and I'll be able to teach a better method of how to approach a design problem. I've suffered through hours and hours of annoying software errors so you don't have to! You can ask me anything about modeling a part, whether its for a class or just a personal project.

If you need help with anything Solidworks or Math related, please feel free to reach out! We'll set up a lesson at a time that works for you, and I'm always available in the chat for any additional questions! I look forward to working for you!

Subjects

Computer

MATLAB,

MATLAB

I used MATLAB all throughout my undergraduate degree, and I continue to use it in my graduate studies. I have used it in numerous classes, design projects, and even for personal use. I have a lot of experience with doing different things in the software, including various numerical methods, simulations, and animations.
Solidworks

Solidworks

I have been doing CAD for 8 years, Solidworks for the last 3. During my Senior year at college, my team finished second in the national I-MADE Design-a-thon competition for our CAD model and design of a prosthetic socket for a transtibial amputee. I have a good knowledge of how to set up a model efficiently, while leaving room for changing parameters down the line.

Proofreading

Proofreading

I got my undergraduate degree in Engineering from Virginia Tech, and I am currently a Master's Student at Northeastern University studying Bioengineering - Biomechanics. I've done a lot of research, and have read a lot of research papers, so I know what makes a paper sound good and what doesn't. I've had to proofread dozens of papers with this in mind, meaning that I am well used to it.

Precalculus

I got my undergraduate degree in engineering from Virginia Tech, and I'm currently a graduate student studying Bioengineering - Biomechanics at Northeastern. As such, I have an excellent knowledge of math and calculus, as I use it all the time. However, I am very aware of the building blocks to the math I use, and can teach these to you or your student.

Mechanical Engineering,

Mechanical Engineering

While my undergraduate degree isn't "Mechanical Engineering," it falls under the same vein. We actually learn more math and physics than the standard mechanical engineering student, making our degree more of a cross between Aerospace Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. I have good knowledge of most if not all mechanical engineering subjects.

Natural Teacher!

Austin helped me prepare for my upcoming final. He was great! Learned more in 1 hour with him than I did the entire semester. Very detail oriented and makes sure you understand each step before proceeding. If your taking a Solidworks class and need help this is the guy!
