Hello! I'm currently a master's student at Northeastern University in Speech-Language Pathology. I graduated with honors from Northwestern University with majors in Linguistics and Psychology, and a minor in Human Communication Sciences. I have a wide range of passions in both clinical experiences as well as research and I love sharing my knowledge with others. I have one year of tutoring experience in elementary reading and math. I enjoy leading study groups with my peers and helping others in academics. With experiences in both tour guiding and customer service, my communication skills serve me well in explaining and teaching a diverse range of concepts.

As I am currently pursuing Speech-Language Pathology, I have extensive experience with developing phonics-based, literacy lessons, particularly for children who are at-risk for reading disorders. I greatly enjoy sparking children's' interest in reading and always remain sensitive to the needs of who I'm working with. I am flexible in the way I present material and I strive to make reading a fun, enjoyable process.

At the college level, I have taken differential and integral calculus, as well as statistics and I feel comfortable breaking down complex concepts into simpler components. I also enjoy finding new methods of explanation that make more sense for different types of learners. I find that I am able to explain math concepts in a way that is enjoyable and understandable for all. My college coursework in the sciences included biology, anatomy/physiology, chemistry, research methods, linguistics, and psychology. I have a firm grasp on analyzing/interpreting data, developing hypotheses, and statistical analyses. Having taken an ACT prep class in high school, I have learned a number of strategies and acquired the necessary tools to succeed on this test (I scored a composite score of 34).

I am very detail-oriented and love the process of editing writing as well as teaching grammar/syntax. As a linguistics major now training to become a Speech-Language Pathologist, I have extensive training in language development, grammar, and syntax. I greatly enjoy teaching others about the sounds and structures of English.

I will carefully consider student feedback and always adapt my lessons to what students feel would be most helpful. I live just north of Boston but am frequently around Northeastern's campus, where I can also tutor. I am easy to reach and always provide prompt responses. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!
