I am Sarah. I graduated cum laude from University of California San Diego with double degree in Biochemistry and Psychology in four years. During my third year undergraduate, I studied abroad in University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Then I got my master's degree in biomedical informatics from Columbia University. I am currently working in Harvard Medical School in genetic research. I have solid knowledge and extensive experience in biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, math, statistics, and computer science. Interdisciplinary knowledge from different field helps me to think across boundaries and enhance one another. It gives me new perspective on the same question and increase my understanding of each subject.

I have one year calculus tutoring experience in UCSD math department. I worked with undergraduate students who need help in their calculus classes and homework problems. I tutored 20 hours every week and have helped more than 50 students. With experience in tutoring, I not only teach my students how to solve one problem, but also make sure that they understand the "why" and how to generalize the problem-solving skills into similar questions. After each class, I want to ensure that students can practice on their own and reinforce what they learned. In addition, I believe students learn the most from their mistakes and I help students to categorize their mistakes and help them to avoid similar mistakes.

I got A+ in almost all of my undergraduate math class. My GRE math is 169.

I have 7 year academic experience in biology related subjects. I am also an experience programmers and I apply all my knowledge in biology, programming, and statistics in my current work. I am a researcher in cutting-edge genetics field and I have an understanding of the big picture in biological/genetics research.

I am a Chinese native speaker and also fluent in English.

I want to benefit the students with as much as possible. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and hesitations. I am happy to provide a free consultation.
