About Trent

My name is Trent G. and I recently graduated with a Masters of Public Health with a major in Epidemiology. I enjoy teaching and helping students explore new subjects. As an undergraduate student, I tutored students in Biology focusing on a wide range of concepts including: cell biology, ecology, and human biology. I have also taught elementary students in an after-school program that focused on basic science principles and middle/high school students at a summer camp.

While pursuing my Masters of Public Health, I completed a statistics course and finished with an A. Furthermore, I was enrolled in several biostatistic courses and completed both with A's. Additionally, my current role as a data analyst allows me to get regular exposure to statistical concepts in research.

I graduated from The College of Charleston with a major in Biology. My coursework included courses in general biology, botany, genetics, etc. As stated above, my MPH program focused on Epidemiology. I am well versed in epidemiological concepts and methodology. Additionally, my MPH program ensured that I had a strong foundation in biostatistical concepts

My main priority as a tutor is to teach you the material in a way that best fits you. I want to ensure that you get the most out of our sessions. I am easy to contact and will provide a quick response. Please do not hesitate to contact me with your questions. I look forward to hearing from you.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Biostatistics

As part of my Master of Public Health program, I took two graduate-level biostatistics courses. I was taught the different statistical methodologies used in medical studies and included material on such concepts as t-test, summary statistics, nonparametric tests, etc. I finished both courses with A's.

Botany

As part of my undergraduate education I took and passed a botany class. I am also took a graduate level plant ecology class. Furthermore, I have taught plant identification for several summers at a summer camp.

Epidemiology

I have a Masters of Public Health with a major in Epidemiology. I took three 4 graduate level epidemiology courses that covered epidemiological study design and methodology. Furthermore, I am familiar with accounting for censored data and controlling for confounders.
