After spending three years working in finance, I transitioned to urban education. From there, I taught elementary school at a top performing charter in the Uncommon School's network in Brooklyn, NY. During those years I taught both traditional 4th grade general education (including test prep tutoring for ELA, Math, and Science) and a year of special education K-4. While teaching I completed my master's from Columbia Teachers College in Curriculum Design and Instruction (professional certification, grades K-6). I have recently moved to Boston to work for the same charter network on their operations and college placement team for a founding high school.
Outside of teaching, I have four years of tutoring experience in the New York area. This tutoring experience mostly consists of test prep for elementary through high school students, with some additional work in GRE tutoring. I am looking to continue tutoring outside of my operations role as a way to further my teacher career. I really miss being directly with my students!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
