I have had a knack for tutoring all throughout high school. I enjoyed tutoring students in college preparatory and AP Chemistry while I was still in high school. In the beginning, no one ever asked for my help explicitly but when I saw fellow students struggling with concepts covered in class I offered a lending hand and pretty soon that evolved into me running a small tutoring business. Tutoring and teaching is sort of like a performance in the sense that you have to occasionally act out the concepts or tell a story about the topic of interest and your audience is the student. They want to be engaged and they want to understand; all they need is the right mode of presentation.

I enjoyed teaching so much in high school that when I got a shot to do it in college I pounced on the opportunity. For one semester I served as a Learning Assistant in the Systems Physiology Labs at Boston University. Each week from 6-9pm I had the chance to take the "main stage" and explain physiological concepts as they related to the lab that students were going to perform that evening. I enjoy every opportunity I get to help people. What is most rewarding about the tutoring experience is when the student has that "aha" moment and everything clicks for them.

In high school I was fortunate enough to take AP Chemistry and AP Biology the same year. That experience really allowed me to appreciate how the two subjects are intricately related to each other. After taking the AP exams and earning a 5 on both, I realized that maybe I had an opportunity to help others better understand some of the more complicated concepts in these two subjects. So while I was attending college I started working with kids from my high school and tutoring in Chemistry. Pretty soon I started to receive opportunities to teach in college. The opportunities I received in college allowed me to branch out and gain more tutoring expertise in other subjects such as Physiology. My Junior year of undergrad I had the opportunity to take a Biochem course at the medical campus of my University and it really opened my eyes. I fell in love with the subject matter and the concepts and I had a desire to help other people, if not fall in love but at least have a better understanding of the subject. So I think it is my love for the subjects and my firm grasp of the content material that allows me to paint a clearer picture for my students.

I am a native Hindi speaker and I have taken Hindi at the college level to learn reading and writing. Being a native speaker is beneficial for tutoring because it makes explaining grammatical concepts much easier to students. Additionally, with a wider range of vocabulary and grammatical examples I can give clearer explanations to Hindi students. Hindi is not just a language. It is my way of communicating. I would be able to show students the intricacies of the language while still honing their technical skills in the subject.

My schedule is quite flexible in an attempt to put my students first. We can meet whenever and wherever is more convenient for you since it is my wish to make a difference for the better when it comes to my students' education. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future!

ACT Reading,

ACT Reading

The ACT is a tough test if you don't understand what the test makers want from you. Part of the reason that I'm qualified to tutor students for this test is that I understand what types of questions the ACT Reading section is likely to ask and what answers they are looking for. Once a student understands those two things, then it's just a matter of practice! With the right guidance I'm confident students can achieve the scores they want on the ACT reading section after working with me.

I have been familiar with the concepts taught in Biology for quite some time now. My first exposure to the subject matter occurred in sixth grade. Subsequently, I took Biology again in the 9th grade and in 12th grade I took AP Biology. So this recurring exposure to the concepts has really allowed them to sink in! I earned a 5 on the AP Biology exam and then I went on to major in Biology with a specialization in Neurobiology. So you can see Biology is quite an integral part of my educational career. This constant exposure/re-exposure will allow me to really clear things up in problem areas that people commonly encounter.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

Chemistry! Just mentioning the subject causes much excitement. I can understand how for many this feeling is not mutual. Chemistry was really eye-opening for me in high school and then again in undergrad. It gave me a deep appreciation for how life in all of its forms can be broken down in to simple chemical reactions. I enjoyed Chemistry so much in high school that I took Honors Chemistry and AP Chemistry in the 11th and 12th grade, respectively. I couldn't get enough of it in the classroom so I started tutoring friends for a small fee in the subject. A few friends turned into several and by the time I graduated high school I had a small clientele. I believe this previous experience in tutoring Chemistry and additionally my passion for the subject makes me an effective tutor.

Anatomy

I recently took Human Anatomy and Neuroanatomy and earned A grades in both courses. Aside from earning good grades, my class experience included dissection of human cadavers and as a result I feel I have an in-depth understanding of the muscles, arteries, nerves and the relationship they all share. My experiences and my mastery of the material make for a great tutoring experience with me!
Biochemistry,

Biochemistry

I completed a course in Biochemistry at the Boston University School of Medicine while in my Junior year of undergrad. The course was challenging and really in-depth but I ended up with an A- in the course. I also left the course with a love for the subject matter. I feel like this positive feeling towards the content will allow me to better explain tough concepts to individuals who are struggling with them.

Physiology

Physiology

Physiology is intricate, overwhelming, daunting and beautiful all at the same time. If anatomy is concerned with structure, then physiology is concerned with function. The key to appreciating physiology is understanding that these two concepts of structure and function are tightly linked. You can't have one without the other. I did well in my college Physiology course that I was offered a position as a Physiology Lab Learning Assistant (LA). As an LA I had the opportunity to help students with difficult concepts as they related to Physiology Labs they were assigned each week. This experience along with my mastery of the subject material makes me a qualified tutor in the subject. I hope to help people out and instill within them a sense of awe and appreciation when it comes to physiology.

Knowledgeable and Thorough

Biraaj was helping me with my Anatomy and Physiology class. We went through the power-points from my professor and he makes the material seem less overwhelming and more doable. He is kind, patient and has a deep understanding of the material. He explains it in a way that doesn't make me feel dumb and isn't over my head. He does what my brilliant professor cannot. Can't thank him enough for all his help.

I will get through Biology. Excellent tutor

I feel anyone that is looking for a tutor is already feeling the pressure. Biraaj takes all of that away. Right from the get go I felt calm. Any questions or asking if we could go over something again was ok. I have had other tutors over the years. I always had a feeling of embarrassment from asking too many questions if I did not understand the first time around. I fear no more! Biraaj has a gift for this. His way of explaining and going over the material that is best for the student is outstanding. If you are in need of extra help, take my advice. Talk to him, you will not be disappointed.

Knowledgeable and highly patient tutor!

This is my first online tutoring lesson and I couldn't have had a better experience. Biraaj helped me conquer several concepts of Biochemistry by taking them step by step. He was very patient and made sure I understood each concept before moving forward. I feel a lot more confident and am definitely looking forward to more tutoring sessions. Highly recommend him.

Patient tutor

After one session, my daughter learned so much with Biraaj within the one hour she saw him. He is extremely patient and is always more than willing to explain everything thoroughly if she doesn't understand. He was able to go over a previous exam with her and helped her to fully understand everything she got wrong, and he was also able to help her understand the new material she is learning for her upcoming exam. I highly suggest having him as a tutor.

Great chemistry tutor!

Biraaj is a great tutor. He is reliable and knowledgeable and knows how to teach. My son easily grasps the concepts of chemistry with Biraaj's help. He will also ask Biraaj for help for his psychology and biology. 3 subjects in one tutor!
