I am involved in putting together the study methodology, as well as analyzing the data gathered (both quantitative and qualitative), publishing the results in peer-reviewed manuscripts and also presenting the findings at conferences. I also oversee and mentor research analysts, teaching them research methods as well as how to best use tools such as Microsoft Excel, SAS (statistical analysis software) and Stata.

I am also pursuing a masters' degree (MS-Nutritional Epidemiology and MPH with a concentration in biostatistics and epidemiology) while here. This program is very science-oriented (I have taken numerous courses in Chemistry, Biology, Physiology, and Biochemistry) as well as statistics/epidemiology-oriented. I'm currently a teaching assistant for Principles of Biostatistics (where I have many one-on-one sessions with the students and also lead portions of the lecture), and I have been a teaching assistant of Introduction to SAS.

I also have tutoring experience as I have tutored high school and college students in algebra, statistics, writing, and Latin. As a tutor, I've learned that not all students learn using the same techniques, and so I have learned how to modify how I tutor based on the students' learning styles.

I have spoken at 38 conferences from November, 2010 until today. My talk times have ranged from 10 minute (TED-like) to over an hour. I have also spoken in front of various groups: academics; pharmaceutical industry patient-recruitment experts; pharmaceutical pharmacovigilance professionals etc. I am also a teaching assistant for a biostatistics course and create the presentations used in class as well as deliver portions of the lecture. I also have taken a public speaking course, which focused on the speaking aspects and not on the powerpoint presentation portion.

Microsoft Outlook

I have been using Microsoft Exchange (and therefore Outlook) for over 10 years. I am very well versed in using the calendar function, busy-searching people within the same company, adding tasks for individuals to complete and tracking their progress. I also know how to use the address book to make groups and send emails to the groups. I am also familiar with mail-merging and sending e-mail blasts using Microsoft Word and Excel (and then sending out via Outlook).

Very pleasant, knowledgeable and easy to understand.

This was my first lesson. I was discouraged before the lesson that I would not learn this program SAS. She guided me through the first steps to help me gain the confidence I needed and I feel now I can make great progress as we continue with the lessons. Thank you.

Knowledgeable and great tutor!

Very patient, very knowledgeable about the statistics subject. Will request her again and will refer her to other students. She was awesome in explaining the exercises. Very professional.

Helpful with Excel!

Stella taught me how to use pivot tables and pivot charts in Excel, which I hadn't used before. In just one hour, she helped me understand the fundamentals and how I could apply them to the specific project I was working on. Her teaching style is friendly and helpful. She helped make sure I was learning by stopping to answer my questions anytime I got confused and letting me do things myself, and sitting next to me to advise me and walk me through it.

Knowledgeable, nice, and very helpful!

Stella was an amazing tutor and really made a subject that I struggle with easier to understand. She was great to work with and was very understanding of my difficult schedule. I highly recommend her!

"Pinch Hitter" Teacher

Stella helped me understand some of the background statistical processes for SAS Enterprise Miner and interpret the Decision Tree. Stella was easy going and a great help.

Stella was great!

She helped me with math and computer-related work I was performing. She was efficient and helpful, although it took 15 mins to get connected because wyzant platform wasn't working so we did google hangouts. I was surprised she did not add on the 15 mins. once we were connected, because that was an expensive 15 mins. Other than that, she was a great tutor and I recommend her

Top Notch!

Stella reviewed STATA basics with me and applied those to a dataset I am working with to clean it up and get it organized. She is extremely knowledgable and an absolute pleasure to work with.

Well versed Statistics tutor with a great attitude

Stella worked with me on the mathematics of my University statistics class, including the reasoning behind the calculation of standard deviation. She was easy going, well spoken and clearly knew the subject and could concisely convey information.
