Hello prospective student, my name is John, I am a Resident Medical Physician. I trained at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. On my downtime, I work with students to help them improve their understanding of math and science concepts. I understand that every student can have a different learning pace and strategy that works best for them. This is why I believe a tutoring session tailored to each individual will help strengthen their understanding of concepts and help improve their grade and test scores.

My goal during the tutoring sessions is to know where the student has challenges in a particular subject and help create a study environment where they can understand the concept.

The way I usually tutor is:
The student and I cover the particular subject. I get their feedback on their understanding of the subject through homework assignments and practice problems. At the next session, I use the teach-back method, asking my students to explain the concept we covered in their own words. Teach back is a great learning technique and I have found it helpful for my own studies in college and graduate school and for my students.

I provide test prep and study strategies for SAT, ACT and MCAT. I can also provide advice/mentorship for students aspiring towards higher education and graduate school such as Medical School.

I welcome feedback from students and/or student's parents or guardians during our tutor sessions because such feedback helps me tailor future sessions to better suit the needs of my students.
