Hello! I just finished my first semester of classes in my first year at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, and have found that I happily have time that I would like to devote to helping Boston area High School students with Math and Science Comprehension. A little about me... I love running, tennis, cooking, learning, spending time with friends and family. I am comfortable working in a wide range of settings from Skype, Bookstores/Coffee shops, Public Libraries, to Client's houses.
I Graduated from Lafayette College with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Minor in Health and Life Sciences. I have tutored college level Calculus and Organic chemistry, with the majority of my experience coming in SAT/ACT Math Prep, High School level Trigonometry, Geometry, Algebra, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Comprehending difficult math and science subjects when initially introduced can be overwhelming, I find that my patient and thorough teaching style supports students understand topics by teaching at the individuals pace.
I also can assist in College counseling having worked for my college Admissions department for 6 years now in the capacity of giving information sessions, campus tours, with my current role in doing alumni interviews. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
