Dear students,it is a great honor for me to be your tutor. I would like to share some of my experiences as a tutor and a Public Administrator with you. My experience began with my first job as a Case Manager at a foster care agency. One of my responsibilities was to meet with the teenagers and help to address their problems. I quickly found out that most of the kids were high school dropouts, single parents, with a very bad view of the community they came from. In other words, they blamed their parents, their teachers, and just about every one else for their conditions. I also found out that almost all of the teenagers were unable to read. With this in mind , I decided to create a tutoring department, a personal hygiene department, and a job outreach and preparation department. After weeks and months of preparation, hard work, and many failures, the programs began to work. The young ladies took great pains and care in dressing, the young men followed suite. Their reading and writing skills had improved; as a result, sixty percent of the teenagers were able to acquire jobs. I continued running this program, that ultimately produced children with self respect and high self esteem. Since the programs were so successful, I was asked to tutor adults an families, that were interested in caring for a foster child, or were interested in adoption. Both programs were successful, and is still in operation to date. I must say to parents, that I enjoy teaching children and watching them grow and become competent and responsible adults. I am therefore asking parents for the opportunity to work with their child, and I promise in return to show positive results. Thank you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
